Who gets in where

Alberta: 18+ · photo ID under 25

Casino floor: 18+. Casino Restaurant: no minors. Comedy nights: 18+. Winner's Edge card: 18+ with government ID. Staff check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25.

The age rule and the ID check

Guests must be 18 or older to enter the casino floor at Red Deer Resort & Casino. That matches the legal gambling age in Alberta, which is also 18. Casino staff must check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. The check depends on how a guest looks, not on what the guest says about their age.

The next thing guests usually ask about is the Winner's Edge card. The resort uses Winner's Edge, the loyalty program run with AGLC. Members pick up the card at Guest Services with government ID, and they must be 18 or older. Anyone planning to get one should have that ID on hand at the first visit.

Rooms with their own rules

Minors are not allowed in the Casino Restaurant, which sits in the centre of the casino floor and serves Western and Asian dishes. Laugh Out Lounge comedy nights are also for guests 18 and over. Those shows take place inside HIY Steaks, and show dates are posted on the resort's entertainment page.

A few spaces are limited to hotel guests instead. The heated indoor pool and hot tub, open daily 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, are for hotel guests. So is the fitness centre, open 24 hours. The Club Lounge on the 9th floor serves only guests of Club Level rooms.
